Last week, our Services and Safeguarding Lead Fiona participated in Agenda Alliance's roundtable meeting on girls' exclusion from education. She shared input about what experiences relating to exclusion can look like for young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and associated violence. Fiona also signposted to the work on education and school exclusion by the Contextual Safeguarding Team.
There were great insights shared by other organisations including Race On The Agenda's research co-produced by young people who they have trained to become peer researchers, National Children's Bureau's pilot programme to increase a sense of belonging in schools and Chance UK's work on the long lasting impact of exclusion.
We are excited to learn that Agenda have been funded to expand their work on girls' exclusion. We are looking forward to seeing what comes next and being involved in working towards the changes that girls want to see.
Thanks to everyone who attended and to Agenda Alliance for hosting!
