group work
Abianda’s Group Work is designed for young women & girls aged 13 to 25 who are affected by, or at risk of, criminal exploitation and violence, that is often associated with ‘gangs’ & county lines. It is available to London-based organisations or settings where young women & girls already attend, or if a group is already working together.
What is Abianda’s Group Work?
Abianda’s aims for young women & girls:
-
Increase their understanding of how girls and young women are affected by criminal exploitation and the associated violence
-
Increase their understanding of healthy relationships
-
Have more agency in making changes they want to see in their lives
-
Young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation are more able to get what they need from systems and services.

Process for organisations
-
Complete our online form
-
Attend consultation meeting with the participation team, to find out more about the group work programme and if it is the right fit for the young women & girls your are working with
-
If Abianda’s group work meets the needs of young women & girls, a meet and greet session will be arranged for the group**
-
The ‘meet & greet’ session is for the group to learn about who we are, what we do and to decide if they want to work with us
-
If the group agree to working with us, we meet with you to finalise any details around the structured programme and us working together (where relevant)
*Non-binary people who feel that have lived experience that aligns with that of women and girls are welcome to apply
**Meet & greets sessions are mandatory for the structured programme, but might not be necessary for one-off workshops - this will be discussed in the consultation meeting
